Two years ago I learned about native plants and decided to convert our front yard. With 45 yards of wood chips and lots of cardboard and newspaper, plus 2 years of winter sowing perennials, we now have a lot less grass and a lot more natives. We removed lots of ornamental grass, daylilies and Rose of Sharon. Next plan is to dig a small wildlife pond, hopefully this summer.
