In public testimony at a hearing in Hartford in February, Beyond Pesticides, a national nonprofit, reported the shocking news that bumble bees have declined by 99% in Connecticut since the 1990s. Pesticides are to blame. Without bees and other pollinators we would lose 35% of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds that we eat.
