Quite a variety of existing native species in wooded forest area including shrubs and perennials. Variety of trees include oak, maple, wild cherry, willow, cottonwood, silver birch, dogwood, pine. There are also natural maple leaf viburnum and highbush blueberries. Woodland perennials exist and invasives are being removed. Existing evening primrose, St John’s Wort, boneset, wintergreen, partridgeberry, meadowsweet, and a variety of goldenrod and asters are blooming in newly defined meadows. New formal garden plantings include 30+ types of native shrubs and perennials with further expansion planned. Species list available. Native grasses planted include Pennsylvania and Appalachian sedge, Indian Grass, Prairie dropseed, little blue stem, and tufted hair grass.
