We have finished year one of a true pollinator meadow, with a water feature, lots of sunshine, and about 40 native meadow pollinator flowers, both annuals and perennials, with a backdrop of a 30 foot gray and pink granite ridge running the length of the plot.
Twenty varieties of perennial native wildflowers will be added in 2021, and the meadow will be expanded by 50%. The meadow has attracted many varieties of butterflies, bees and birds, and is a habitat for necessary insects. Best practices in earth-friendly management are used at all times.
This plot had been heavily wooded before the macroburst. I removed all the dead trees, and lightening removed the last one casting shade. The soil was great for a meadow.
