On Monday, May 2 the Board of Representatives approved implementing the proposed Managed Natural Meadow Landscape exception into Stamford's current blight ordinance. The exception includes definitions for a Managed Natural Meadow Landscape, native plant, invasive plant, non-native plant, noxious weed, and Landscape Professional while providing protection for homeowners that have meadows in their yards. However, the Managed Natural Meadow Landscape does not protect homeowners who let their turf grass grow above 9". Thank you to everyone who submitted statements or spoke at the hearing.
