Much of our yard is naturally shrubby. There are also some smallish oaks and maples. The ground cover in that area is mainly ivy and we have seen box turtles in that area. 

 

The part of our yard that’s lawn is left to whatever grows there: some moss, native cape cod grasses, clover, lots of dandelions and other small flowers. We never water and never use any fertilizers or pesticides on any part of the yard.
