As you can see from our address, we are in the Mid-Atlantic region. When we moved in, our property backed to the remnants of an ancient oak forest. That has now been clear-cut and four huge homes were built there. Thank goodness I have planted so many trees. The property is a work in progress. Several sections are now 100% native plantings, other areas are a mixture. We have almost all native trees except for several Nellie Stevens hollies I planted 27 years ago, two crepe myrtles my husband planted, and a crabapple that may or may not be native.
