I converted my front yard from turf to gardens, focusing on native shrubs, perennials and grasses. We created a pond behind the house, with shade and moist-soil loving shrubs, ferns, perennials and sedges. The house is nestled in woodlands, with borders of ferns and spring ephemerals.
