The front yard is shaded by trees from the east, south and west, so we converted it back to a native woodland and woodland edge landscape. It blooms for three seaasons and provides habitat and food for our insects, birds, and small mammals.

The backyard is partial to full sun. Along the fenceline, we have perennials, inlcuding some moisture loving for low spots, and then have added some shrubs.

Front yard- Red Osier dogwood, trout lily, jacob's ladder, spiderwort, wild ginger, columbine, zigzag goldenrod, wild bergamot, wild quinine, and Joe Pye weed are some of the species.
In the backyard- American Filbert, Joe Pye weed, common milkweed, butterfly weed, brown-eyed Susan, wild petunia, wild geranium, and blue flag iris are some of the species.
