After experimenting with letting a third of my back lawn go "wild" I bit the bullet and hired OhioNativeConcepts to do it professionally. Now I have a large swath bordering the Granville golfcourse filled with woods-edge type plantings for fairly shady setting. Although it will take a few years to grow in, I'm enjoying seeing the sedges, grasses and wildflowers establish themselves. Challenges include drought (sept 2025), browsing deer, and my own ignorance about what's now a weed vs an intentional planting.
Northern Honeysuckle, snowberry bush, golden alexander, joe pye weed, big leaf aster, pennsylvania sedge, groundsel, hairy beardtongue, beak grass, zigzag goldenrod, blue mistflower, red colombine, rye grass, blackeyed susan, partridge pea
