Until 2025 all of the ground on the corner lot of this semi-detached house was paved over with bricks to make room for cars. Over one spring season, the inhabitants removed 400 sqft of paving stone, excavated the underlying stone dust, and refilled the space with garden soil and native trees, shrubs, grasses, and flowers. Within a month, this previously barren patch was crawling with all kinds of beautiful flowers and pollinators.
