The front grass lawn was replaced by native river birches, fringe trees, Myrica Pennsylvanica, sumac, goldenrod, NY aster, Rattlesnake Master, Agastache Blue Fortune, Clethra, Fothergilla, microclover, creeping thyme, no mow grass, Carex Pennsylvanica, and a variety of herbaceous perennials and ornamental grasses. In the side south-facing yard, a strip of pollinator friendly plants, including buttonbush, Joe Pye weed and milkweed, were planted in and among decorative grasses.  Approximately 90% of the plants are native, and all of the remaining non-natives are non-invasive (e.g. water iris).  There is also a water bubbler, which the robins love to bathe in, and a taller bird bath. Three standing orbs hold pine cones and debris for bugs to nest in, along with soil and moss up top for a variety of succulents.
