I have multiple mature perennial gardens - some were here when we bought the place almost 15 year ago. Since moving here, we have been actively eradicating bittersweet, multiflora rose and burning bush from the 2 acres of woods on the property. My perennial gardens are increasingly filled with natives and my vegetable garden - which is composed of raised beds has a large pollinator friendly garden in the center of it. All the beds include some pollinator attracting plants which provide habitat from early spring through late fall. We leave leaf litter in the beds and anywhere that it collects and while we do have quite a large area of lawn, have been reducing it annually by creating more garden areas. We are currently in the process of seeding and encouraging white clover to take over the grass areas.

We have a strict policy of using NO herbicides or pesticides. The only exception being the very select application of herbicide to poison ivy and the cut ends of invasive like bittersweet.

In addition, we built a small (1900 gallon approx) fish pond where we see birds, frogs and insects enjoying the water.
