St. Mary’s Episcopal Church was founded in 1883. Today the parish is known for its hands-on community outreach programs as well as the diversity of the congregation. The parish is also committed to sustainable practices throughout the campus, including the gardens.

St. Mary’s gardens have evolved over the years into grounds that the entire community can enjoy: there are benches where people take their work breaks and a fountain where folks gather to chat or just relax. There also has been a move to include many more native plants and gradually remove plants on the invasive species list.
