Owned/designed: Owned by the town of Greenwich, designed and installed by Peter Grunow, Gro Pro Landscaping, in collaboration with the Green Fingers Garden Club.

Environmental setting: Coastal area with shallow ledge and sandy soils.

Highlight­s: This spectacular strip of colorful plantings arranged along a split rail fence offers a display of predominantly native grasses and perennials. Planted in sandy soil the garden is exposed to droughts, salt spray, strong winds, and sizzling temperatures. Awash with color, this seaside garden provides a striking contrast to the surrounding lawn. Tall standing flowers and grasses,softly dancing with the wind, offer a feast to the eye and year around interest. This well selected variety provides food and shelter to a variety of pollinators and other coastal wildlife.
