Began removing lawn 20 years ago. The front yard is a mix of shade and sun with both natives and herbs along with a rhubarb plant some strawberries and the occasional volunteer squash. One side is a rain garden that captures rain from three downspouts and the sump pump from our cellar. The backyard is mostly vegetable garden (and chickens) with natives around the fencerow. Large shade trees limit food production to an extent but greatly increase the biodiversity of our yard.
Too many to list. Some of my favorites are grasses and sedges and how they contrast with flowering natives throughout the season.
