We moved into the house in 2023 and it was entirely lawn and a single mature green ash tree not native to here. We've converted half the front yard to native and perennial beds and hope to get rid of the rest of the front lawn in 2026. We have made about a 1/3 of the back yard into raised vegetable beds and native patches. To get rid of grass we've used tarps to solarize, physically removed it, used lasagna mulching and moving compost piles over areas of grass.
