Over the last two or three years, we have been removing high maintenance plants and replacing them with natives. We swapped hydrangeas for NJ tea, some daylillies sfor Ohio piderwort, etc. we planted pawpaw trees, black raspberries, blue eyed Grass, plenty of Echinacea and mountain mint and milkweed. We have seen more birds, insects, and butterflies all over the property, including the zebra swallowtail which I had never seen before 2024. We are excited to reduce our lawn and continue this re-wilding of our corner of the world!
