About 2500 square feet of prairie gardens containing over 50 varieties of straight species native plants. 2 bog gardens with 12 species of native plants. Roughly 20000 square feet of woodland gardens with 1 Bur Oak,1 Northern Red Oak,1 Red Maple; 1 Eastern Cottonwood, 1 Wild Black Cherry, 1 Eastern Hemlock, 2 Paw Paws, 2 Southern Magnolias, 2 Common Hop Trees, 2 Eastern Redbuds, 2 White Flowering Dogwoods, 1 Pink Flowering D, ogwood, 3 Sweet Birch, 3 Eastern White Pines, 1 Fringe Tree, and 2 Shadblow Serviceberries. Shrubs include Common Snowberry, Black Chokeberry, Sweetshrub, Bottlebrush Buckeye, American Hazelnut, Common Witchhazel, Virginia Sweetspire, Summersweet Clethra, Fragrant Sumac, Grey Dogwood, Bunchberry Dogwood, Bearberry, Kalm's St John's Wort, Flame Azalea, and Dwarf Bush Honeysuckle. About 25 species of native woodland ferns and perennials. We have reduced our lawn by about half and will eventually reduce it to pathways. We're in year three of our woodland garden project and are adding more shrubs and perennials, and are expanding our praire and bog gardens. All of our leaves stay right where they fall.
