Five years ago, we bought our house and planned to remove an area overtaken by wisteria, replacing it with native plants. I've never gardened before so my primary challenge has been lack of knowledge and experience. And deer. We installed a meadow where the most successful plants have been volunteers: poke and fox grape. Our favorite has been the native honeysuckle.
