The property is a certified wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation, the Xerces Society and the Monarch Watch. We have planted more that 120 species of native plants, most of them endemic from NY, NJ, and PA. An entomologist from the Museum of Natural History did a survey of native bees in the county, and found in our backyard 16 species of native bees. According to the scientist, it was the higher count of native bees in the county, since 1920.
