There are two beds, one smaller than the other. The challange was digging up all of the irises that had been planted. We planted plugs which worked out very well. We planted last May so could see progress right away. This spring everything is exploding in growth! I was truly worried since the winter was so difficult. I did not remove any fallen leaves so the plants were protected. I did realize I need to take up some of the leaves next Fall as the depth of leaf cover may have been a bit to deep. Biggest challenge were getting the landscapers not to blow leaves (I live in an apartment building).

the main bed is planted with wild geranium, autumn bride, packera áurea, erigeron, white wood aster, blue lobelia and zig zag goldenrod
the smaller bed is planted with moss phlox, eastern showy aster, butterfly milkweed, black eyed Susan, mountain mint, and monarda didyma
