Native bushes, trees, butterfly host plants, and nectaring flowers, both annual and perennial, that bloom from early April to November.

Since 2000, we have been adding more native plants in our yard and expanded our gardens and eliminating grassy areas to include the roadside (sunny side) and cul-du-sac circle. All those gardens have common milkweed for Monarchs and over the years we continue to plant other host plants for our native butterfly species. This year we added three more spicebush plants to attract the Spicebush butterfly. We hope to see signs next year of the larvae that are so unique...green with big round pigments that look like "eyes". Amazing.
