Since moving here 5 months ago I have eliminated about 70% of the turfgrass in the front half acre, planting pollinator/prairie gardens in its place. In the back half acre, under the five 70 year old silver maples , I'm establishing a forest of mostly native trees and shubs, eliminating about 40% of the turf grass here. Future plans include a pond, a rain garden, and a small vegetable garden.
