Well over half the acre has never been cleared or has flowering perennials, including: red twig dogwood, rhododendrum, viburnum, nepeta, butterfly bush, butterfly weed, black eyed susan, lady fern
There are over 20 trees on the cleared area including 4 oak, 2 dogwood, American Holly, linden, beech, white pine, hickory, cedar, maple, 2 witchhazel and others.
We have not used fertilizer in the 20 years I've owned the house and this year we have reduced mowing to every other week, and leave the grass 1-1/2 to 2 inches.
