Figuring out which pollinator plants don't just survive, but thrive in this windy salt-zone area has been a challenge. Many plants bloom as long as there is a steady supply of rain, but stop blooming and wither when the rainy season ends. The property has a variety of habitats from the shady understory of numerous shore pines to the warm and sunny areas in open space.

Rattlesnake plantain (orchid), False Lily of the Valley, Oregon Iris, Redwood Sorrel, and Western Sword Fern grow in abundance under the Shore Pines. Other native plants include Pacific Wax Myrtle, Black Twinberry, Red Flowering Currant, Sea Thrift, Prunella vulgaris, Checker Mallow, Cranesbill geranium, Common yarrow, Douglas aster, Seaside daisy and Riverbank lupine.
