Garden began as a VCAP (Virginia Conservation Assistance Program) project to remove turf and replace it with native plantings. This was so successful that we decided to do native planting for the entire front of the property incorporating plants desirable for wildlife. We used "Native Plants of Northern Virginia" from Plant NOVA Natives as a guide to choosing the best plants.
