Bronx Charter School for Excellence
1326 Pugsley Ave, Bronx, NY 10462, USA
This Native Plant Habitat Garden was created by Bronx Charter School for Excellence middle school scholars participating in Cultural After School Adventures Nature Club program facilitated by the New York Botanical Garden. Designed to strengthen the health and resilience of the Bronx River Watershed, this garden will filter polluted runoff, reduce erosion, and absorb stormwater while supporting pollinators and providing nature for community members.

The 583 square foot garden contains 31 species of 200+ native plants including northern bayberry, bear oak, Virginia rose, ninebark, silky dogwood, and highbush cranberry, asters, sedges, columbine, wild strawberries, geranium maculatum, black eyed Susan, milkweed, goldenrod, coneflowers, and beards tongue.
