The Captain Sylvanus Whelden historic home, which is on the National Register, includes a period-appropriate herb and vegetable garden, along with a wide selection of native Cape Cod perennials, shrubs and trees that are either recently planted, or established over the last eight years. The herb garden includes approximately 60 herbs, while the period fruit and veretable garden includes espaliered trees, and period-appropriate wood peg constructed raised beds. The gardens are situated on approximately 3/4 of an acre, and include at least 30 species of trees, as well as shrubs and perennials.
