First Presbyterian Church of Hayward

This welcoming native landscape demonstrates how everyday community spaces can become thriving pollinator habitat. Carefully selected California native plants provide food and shelter for bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial wildlife while reducing water use and strengthening local biodiversity. 

The adjacent Children's Garden offers young visitors hands-on opportunities to explore nature, discover the importance of pollinators, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the natural world. Created and cared for by volunteers through the Bee Highways initiative, these gardens reflect FirstPres Hayward's broader commitment to serving the community—from its food pantry, community gardens, and tiny home initiatives to youth programs, arts partnerships, and services for neighbors in need. 

Together, these efforts show how caring for people and caring for the environment can grow side by side, inspiring visitors to create connected habitat in their own neighborhoods.
