Lee Community Gardens
42 Academy St, Lee, MA 01238, USA
The Heritage Pollinator Path runs through the town of Lee and includes a number of different gardens all planted with perennial Trees, shrubs, grasses and flowers native to the local area, as well as a community garden that produces food for local seniors. Each year we expand a little bit more, taking over verges and lawns on public and privately owned land. Our website is https://leecommunitygardens.org/

Because we are planting in areas bordering streets and sidewalks, we have chosen a palette of flowering perennials that are drought and salt tolerant, and that can be kept to about 2 feet tall so the view is not impeded. Where we can we plant flowering trees and shrubs that also produce berries for birds. We have chosen a route through town that many residents and visitors already walk and that also has historical significance. We are currently working on a map and signage with QR codes to guide people along the path.
