Our 5-Star non-profit preschool and childcare facility, Little Lighthouse Learning Center has collaborated with the city of Lorain, Ohio and created a pollinator meadow! Willow Park Pollinator Meadow is located adjacent to our school property.Research has shown that spending time in nature is very beneficial to our children!
Our meadow provides an educational tool for the schools in our community and beyond. Ensuring that important insects/animals continue to pollinate our plants for fruit and vegetable production.
*Prairie Phlox has fluorescent pink flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies in late spring. It is a must-have for sunny gardens. (photo attached)
*The common name of this Heartleaf Alexander comes from the heart-shaped leaves at the base of its stem.(photo attached)
