Most of our garden is behind our fence. But in the front yard, we are encouraging more trees to grow, apple trees, cedar trees, pine, and oak. We also do not use any pesticides or chemicals anywhere on our property.

We leave water out for the creatures and we encourage wildlife to be part of our yard.

Some of our regular visitors:

Chipmunk

Garter snake

Toad

Black rat snake

Bear (not encouraged but respected and appreciated.)

Turkey

Butterfly

Dragonflies

Other pollinators like native bees, honey bee, bumble bees, wasps, and moths.

But most importantly, we are removing as much grass from our yard as possible, and replacing it with wild white clover, pink clover, and I’ve added crimson clover to the mix. Because pollinators like hummingbirds and butterflies enjoy Crimson clover. We are also encouraging wild spearmint to take over the lawn.
